So that was 2006. It has been a busy year for SFL, starting with the AGM which set our current constitution in place, and running through a gamut of events to end with a very pleasant gathering around the table at Le Pain Quotidien. Each of us will pick out different highlights: for some, it will have been the Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre, while others will pick out events at home. Comments to this post are open (hint, hint), so please chip in with your Slow memories of the year which is slipping away as I type on Hogmanay morning. Look, too, at our Review of 2006 to remember the year.
Looking forward to 2007, we have a few things already set. On 22 January, we have our AGM at Chandos House, and two more investigations are scheduled in the Chemistry of Food and Wine series.
The first Saturday in February brings the excitement of the first Slow Food UK AGM in Fiona's new home town of Ludlow. That excitement looks to be heightened by the joint efforts of First Great Western and Arriva Trains Wales, as they set up a six-minute connection at Newport station. All UK members of Slow Food are warmly invited to this meeting.
And there's more. We have potential events simmering away: watch our events log for details as they emerge. We're also looking at ways to update our website to make it easier for you to get the details you need.
A Happy New Year to all Slow Food members everywhere.
