Slow Food London and Southbank Centre are delighted to announce the continuation of the Slow Food Markets. The next market will take place from September 4th to 6th and will run alongside Southbank Centre’s hosting of “Pestival”, a festival celebrating insect life. The following market will be on the 18/19/20 September then monthly from then on.
Both Southbank Centre and Slow Food intend to continue and build upon the success of the markets, and the relationship it has developed at a local and a national level. The Slow Food UK Trust has forged a strong relationship with Southbank Centre and wishes to develop this collaborative partnership. Slow Food London has developed the successful markets and is fully committed to working with Southbank Centre in the future: through the markets, through education, and dovetailing with the artistic programming. So working together, the future will be stronger and better.
The markets will be run under the umbrella of Slow Food UK Enterprises (the commercial arm of Slow Food) with Slow Food London managing the operation. A market team will oversee the process of selecting traders and work with Southbank Centre. A designated manager will be the focal point and administrator. Many of you will know Hanne Lindberg as one of the members of the market team and the organiser of the Slow Food Information Point.
We wish to continue to put Slow Food Markets at Southbank Centre firmly on the map as a market which sets itself apart by promoting a message of Co-producership: that we are in a co-dependent relationship of producer, cook and consumer, thus supporting the core values of Good, Clean and Fair. We will be presenting traders who support these values.
All enquiries regarding the market should be directed to Hanne Lindberg email@example.com
