AS ADAM SAID TO EVE: "I'D PREFER A JB CIDER"
At the award-winning JB Cider at Maplehurst in the idyllic Sussex Weald, artisan producer, John Batcheldor, will guide us through the entire cider producing process. A stroll around his orchard will tell us about apples and their cultivation – locating, planting and managing.
John will demonstrate milling, pressing, fermentation and maturation. But it’s quaffing as well as learning. Copious quantities of JB Dry and Medium Cider will be on tap. At 7.5% they pack a country punch!
Pub of the Year
Ploughman’s Lunch will be provided at the nearby White Horse Pub – it stocks JB Cider. This rural gem has been listed in the national Camra Guide continuously for a remarkable 23 years and is regularly voted as West Sussex Pub of the Year. It offers wooden floors and beams, exposed brickwork and a Victorian stove – plus fresh local food! There’s a choice of Cheddar, Stilton or Ham for the Ploughman’s.
