Zoological Society Of London, Major Campaigners and Artists Partner with Selfridges for Five Week Intensive Initiative with Global Ambitions
From 11 May – 12 June 2011, Selfridges is partnering with more than 20 environmental and conservation groups to celebrate the beauty of the ocean, highlight the issue of over-fishing, help us all understand the threats to the ocean and make positive choices about the right fish to buy and eat.
There will be a host of activities - both fun and serious - highlighting the issues, delivered by members of the marine conservation community and like-minded celebrities, artists, musicians, designers and chefs. Find out more in What's On.
Project Ocean will culminate with the GLOBE World Ocean’s Day summit on 8 June, the United Nations-recognised global day of observance in celebration of our oceans and the vital impact it has on our lives. Held for the first time in a non-traditional, public location, GLOBE 2011 will welcome heads of state, ambassadors, dignitaries and MPs alongside NGOs and activist organisations to examine, workshop and revise The Common Fisheries Policy amongst others.
