Slow Food UK announces the opening of the first Slow Food shop globally: The Taste Space.
The Taste Space promotes Slow Food’s work in supporting local producers.
The shelves are filled with exceptional artisan products including Halen Mon Sea Salt from Anglesey, Kentish Cobnut Oil, Jersey Black Butter and many others including UK Ark of Taste products. The Ark of Taste travels the world collecting small-scale quality productions threatened by industrial agriculture, environmental degradation and homogenization. The Ark of Taste is supported by the Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity, a non-profit organization which coordinates numerous projects including Presidia, Earth Markets, vegetable gardens and more providing them with technical and financial assistance.
The shop also showcases a range of International Ark of Taste products such as Guatemalan cardamom and Madagascan vanilla.
There is Slow Food UK branded merchandise, cookbooks and Slow Food related publications available for purchase and reference. The Taste Space will also act as a focal point and engagement space for our different educational programmes. The space will be utilised for events such as tastings, book signings, chef presentations, producer talks and as a venue where all Slow Food UK’s members and networks can meet for food related social activities.
All Slow Food UK members will receive a 15% discount.
