Canton Tea is a British tea company trading in high grade, whole leaf Chinese tea. They have exclusive access to some of the best teas available through their full-time buyer based in China. Each year they enter the Guild of Fine Food Great Taste Awards and have scooped multiple Golds, with Jasmine Pearls winning the top three star gold award, endorsing it as the best available in the UK. In a feature on Canton Tea in the Independent last last year journalist Christopher Hirst declared himself ‘an ardent convert’.
Founder Jennifer Wood will be hosting the tasting, taking us through the tea spectrum from Jasmine, White and Green tea to Oolong, Black and the less known Puerh. She will talk about the provenance of the teas, how they are produced and how to brew them. It is a lively interactive tasting session, touching on the history and culture of the Camellia sinensis, the Chinese tea plant.
